Mr & Mrs

Decorating a whole house is not an easy task. Especially since Todd and I haven't really had our own space prior to moving in together (unless you count my miniature dorm room and Todd's house at college that he shared with four other guys). We have been trying to find a piece of artwork to hang above our bed since we moved in. However, nothing was really working and we pretty much gave up on looking.

After the wedding was over I put the Mr. & Mrs. sign that hung on or table at the reception above our bed. The sign was made from burlap cut into triangles and some thick paper that you can find at any craft store.

We decided that we liked the Mr. and Mrs. thing, but we didn't like how it was hung from rope above the bed, so we wanted to spice it up a bit! Yay for super cheap DIY projects.

We picked up these frames from Michaels when they were on clearance for about $2 a piece. I actually bought them thinking we could do something with them for our living room, but things change!

When we decided that we were going to use these frames in the bedroom we decided to get some gold spray paint. It's called golf leaf and we got it from Pat Catans for about $3.

To hang the Mr. & Mrs. from the frame we recycled the rope that was used to hang them at the reception . We measure them out the way we wanted the letters to hang in the frame and then we hot glued them onto the string.

Once they were placed where we wanted them we glued the extra strings on the side of the frame.

Here is one frame finished....

...and here is the final product!
