Make Up Basics

I feel like I run out of all of my make up at the same time constantly. My foundation, which typically lasts me six months, was running low and my bronzer broke into pieces on my bathroom floor. Not to mention I had basically been out of primer for a solid month and I resorted to putting eye solution into my mascara so that it would hold me over for a week or two...or three.

I finally got the chance to go to Ulta, this week to pick up some items I needed. I have been using the same foundation for the past two years--it's Tarte's 12hr amazon clay foundation and I love it. This foundation goes for $38 and lasts six months. SIX MONTHS. All you need is a small amount for each use. I also wanted a new primer, so I'm trying out the Ulta Hydro Prime for the first time. So far it has been making my usually dry skin feel pretty soft.

I also picked up a repair balm because I've noticed that my hair has been very dry and kind of frizzy. I asked one of the workers at Ulta for an inexpensive mask and she suggested L'Oreal's Total Repaid Balm. I've only used it once so far, but the smell is amazing and it does leave your hair incredibly smooth and soft.

The rest of the items I picked up are all pretty cheap and just the usual brand I use--all prices are listed.

Whoops...

So, it's October...and I haven't blogged since April. OH MY. To say that I put this thing on the backburner is an understatement.

Anyway, waaayyy back in April Todd and I were knees deep into a kitchen renovation that I honestly thought might never end. However, I'm pleased to announce that somewhere towards the end of April, Todd, my dad and some friends kicked it into high gear and gave me the most beautiful kitchen you ever did see.

Notice the beige wall paint. It doesn't look so bad here, but when the light shined through the window that "beige" paint turned a hideous pink. So, after everything was basically done I decided I hated it. Thank God I have the most patient husband in the world because he let me drag his booty to Home Depot and pick out a whole new paint color.

And here it is with the new and improved paint. Ah, I love it so much. Check the old school flooring. Not cute, but no worries, we covered it right up with some pretty hardwood.

Isn't the floor amazing? We got it at a pretty reasonable price at Lumber Liquidators. Look at little Tucker, so happy that we are all done!

We have walls!

It feels like we have been kitchenless (is that a word?) forever. I am officially sick of take out food in every form...even chipotle, and that is saying something. Between new electrical work, duct work, insulation and building a pantry--we are right on schedule and we officially have walls!

--The beginning stages of the pantry--
--Recessed lighting..so fancy!--
--insulation--

Throughout the past week Todd and my Dad have been busy hanging drywall, patching holes, mudding, mudding some more and sanding. My house is pretty much a cloud of dust. But now we are officially ready for paint! Check it out, I'd say they did a pretty good job.
Above are the two main walls where the cabinets will be hung.

Today we officially got word that are cabinets are in! So we will be hard at work painting and picking out all of the final touches! I'm just a little excited ;).
